Ethel Leitner McDuffie Born June 10, 1924 Passed away May 9, 2022

Ethel L. McDuffie, aged 97 passed away peacefully ,May 9, 2022, to be with the Lord.  She was born in Okeechobee and came to Clewiston with her husband and two small children in 1944 and made her home here for the rest of her years.  As a child of the Great Depression, she learned from an early age to be resilient, tenacious, and strong.

She was a wife, a mother of three, grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of thirteen, and great-great grandmother of six.

She is survived by her son Jimmy (Debbie), daughter Harriet McDuffie Rice; grandchildren Norman Taylor, Kenneth McDuffie (Dusty) Kristi Hingson (Wade), Stephen Taylor (Velda) Kenneth McDuffie (Dusty), Nikki Wiseman (Marion), Lauren Sanders (Benjamin), and Victoria Rice; great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband William Hooker McDuffie, her daughter, Juanita Taylor,  and son-in-law Glenn N. Taylor, and her granddaughter Kayleen Massa.

She was loved and respected by all who met her, and her family will spend the rest of their lives missing her fiery spirit and her unwavering love and dedication to them.
